Larkmeadows Sales Policy

Sales Terms and Conditions

Sales/pickup

  • Larkmeadows has the right to refuse any sale.

  • All sales are done with the understanding that LarkMeadows has the Right of First Refusal*

  • Kids will not be sold alone unless the buyer already has goats or buys two kids.

  • A $100 Non-refundable deposit is required to reserve a kid.

  • If the buyer does not pick up the kid by the appointed date, a daily fee will be charged for boarding.

  • If the buyer does not arrange a new pick-up date within 7 days, the kid will be put back up for sale. The deposit will not be returned

  • If the buyer decides not to buy the kid, the deposit will not be returned

  • Only if a kid happens to die before the pick-up date or is no longer able to be sold, will the deposit be refunded.

  • If a kid appears unhealthy before the pick-up date, we will hold the kid until it is healthy, at no expense to the buyer.

Health/Other

  • Once the kid leaves our care, its health is the buyer's responsibility.

  • All kids will be disbudded before they are sold unless the buyer specifically requests a horned goat or the goat is polled.

  • All kids will be dam raised unless there is a specific health-related situation that makes bottle feeding necessary.

  • All kids are able to be registered with ADGA.

  • All bucks will be left intact unless the buyer requests for them to be castrated or there are genetic reasons for them not to be intact (ex., preserving breed quality/standards).

  • If the kid is not at a suitable age, or we don't feel the need to, we will not castrate them.

  • When a buyer requests that a kid is left horned (not disbudded) the request and deposit must be made within 4 days of the kid's birth, and the deposit will be raised to $200.

Wethers

  • Wethers (castrated bucks) will be sold for $300 unless noted otherwise.

  • When purchasing a wether, the Non-Refundable deposit will be raised to $150 in the chance that the wether is not sold and is already castrated; therefore, no longer being able to be sold as a buck.

  • We require all our kids to be registered with ADGA or AGS. The buyer may choose to do this themselves, or we can register them with ADGA for an additional fee. This helps prevent inbreeding and allows both the buyer and breeder to maintain quality bloodlines. (exceptions made for most wethers or some does if only used for non-breeding pets)

*Right of First Refusal (ROFR):

  • In the event that the buyer sells the animal, the seller must be contacted first and be given the option to purchase the animal at a price no more than 120% of the original sales price

  • If the animal’s value has significantly increased due to documented milk production records (DHIA), show wins, or appraised linear anatomy, or has produced offspring of significant merit, the price may be negotiated based on current market value.

  • The seller must be contacted through the seller's email to ensure proper notification.

  • The seller must be given a reasonable amount of time, 72 hours, to make a decision.

  • If the seller refuses to purchase, the buyer may sell the animal without restriction.
